Simon Weston has joined forces with global hearing specialist Amplifon, which has a clinic in Cross Street, Wakefield, for The Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons 2020, which will celebrate truly remarkable people who are an example to the nation.

This year there will also be two new awards on offer.

Simon said: “The Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons will shine a light on a very British breed of hero.

“Those, like Amplifon founder and World War Two hero Major Charles Holland, who through incredible acts of courage, selflessness and dedication, are an inspiration to others.”

The closing date for entries is Friday, June 19, and nominations can be made via the Amplifon website: www.amplifon.com/uk/about-us/brave-briton-awards.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Army and Navy Club in London on Wednesday, September 30.
