ldest son, Reuben, 16, reads some of the liturgy while middle son, Jude, 14 does a Bible reading and 9-year-old daughter Miriam has a surprise for everyone.

Canon Leah said: “We’re shut inside our home, not able to go to God’s home, the church, where we normally expect to meet and see God. The bible reading for this Sunday really helped us as we read and reflected on how the risen Jesus came to his doubting and fearful disciples behind closed doors and offered them comfort and hope.

“Faith is very much every day in our home and whilst we do all really miss church and can’t wait to get back to it, we wanted to help model to other people that our learning, worship, prayer and praise continues at home.”

The Dean of Wakefield, the Very Revd Simon Cowling, said: “The whole cathedral community is delighted that Canon Leah and her family have been asked to use their gifts in this way – and we’re all very proud of them!

“Sunday’s service is a service of the word in which all can participate and to which all are very welcome.”
