Pontefract band Macroscope release second single

Next month sees Pontefract band Macroscope release their second single of the year with the track Reveal.

The young six-piece alternative indie band who add saxophone and piano to the traditional guitar and drums set-up, formed two years ago while all were students at The Kings School.

They have since built a strong following, playing gigs across the county.

Their plans to curate and run their own stage at Wakefield’s Long Division festival were sadly quashed this year by the chaos of Covid-19.

Luckily, the lads had been in the studio ahead of lockdown, and had recorded a series of tracks ready for release.

Late July saw the first of these, and My Favourite Cardigan won widespread critical acclaim.

This latest number, Reveal, will be released on September 11.

It was selected by Long Division to appear on its artist compilation for this year’s ill-fated event.

While the festival has been postponed until 2021, the album has just been released, on August 21.

Luc Hyde, singer and guitarist for the band, said: “It’s been a strange year, but we can’t wait to get back playing live again in front of an audience.

“Fingers crossed, by the New Year we’ll be gigging again”

Macroscope – Reveal is available on all major streaming and download platforms from Friday, September 11.

It is accompanied by a music video on their YouTube channel. Listen to Reveal at https://soundcloud.com/macroscopeband/reveal-1/s-tSYLQx7B86O
