£2.9 million transformation underway on Pontefract estate
A multi-million pound investment by Wakefield District Housing is underway on a Pontefract estate.
WDH say that the scheme, at Tombridge Crescent in Kinsley, will not only improve the properties for residents, but will help to reduce antisocial behaviour and neighbour disputes caused by parking issues.
The £2.9 million pound regeneration scheme has already seen a number of properties receive new roofing, render, guttering and door canopies helping to improve the energy efficiency of the homes, giving the area a new lease of life.
The environmental improvements to 65 homes on Tombridge Crescent will include the provision of off-road car parking with permeable caramel coloured resin bound drives and footpaths to the front and rear, brick walls to the front of the properties with fabricated plastic-coated metal rails and turfed front gardens.
Thirty-four owner occupiers on the estate will also receive a new front boundary wall, gate and resurfacing of their drive if shared with a WDH property.
To further improve the look of Tombridge Crescent, once the environmental work is complete the footpaths will be resurfaced all the way through the estate to improve their appearance and make them safer.
Tenants will also receive a new front door in a pastel colour of their choice to complement the new look of their homes.
