The Range planning to open in Pontefract

The Range has been given planning permission to take over three units in Pontefract to open a new store.

The homeware retailer has successfully applied to Wakefield Council planners to amalgamate the three shops at Parkside Retail Park.

According to the company's planing statement, two of the units are empty and Carpetright occupies the third.

They will also build a mezzanine floor to increase the capacity, along with an external garden centre area and cafe.

It is estimated that 85 new full-time and part-time jobs will be created.

The application received one letter is support from Ponefract Civic Society.

The Range has over 160 stores nationwide, including one in Wakefield which opened nearly two years ago.

It stocks furniture, garden products, camping and leisure, office supplies, pet products, food items, DIY and lighting.

The Range was contacted for a further details about the application but have declined to comment at the moment.
