Last week, we revealed the top 10 places that people in Wakefield are most likely to move to.

But as we all know, dreams and reality don't always line up. So we asked you a simple question: if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you move to?

These were just a few of the best responses.

Kat Young said: "Haworth, it's a beautiful place."

And Phil Moody said: "I moved from Eastmoor to St Annes. Married a Lancashire lass. Still love Wakey though."

Jonathan Peace is attempting to write himself back into the district, and said: "I moved from Wakefield (Ossett) nearly eleven years ago to be with my, now, wife. I now write crime novels set in Ossett/Wakefield in the 80's and 90's, so I'm kinda coming back..."

Teresa Cassidy said she would love to head north, but recognised it might not be the most practical decision. She said: "Scotland, but that would mean leaving grown up kids & granddaughter... so I’ll stay."

And the beach was another popular destination - Caron Walshaw, Suzanna Walshaw and Lianne Libby Wightman all said they dreamed of moving to Cornwall, while Jan Johnson said: "As I was brought up at the seaside that would be my choice."

Tina Miller said: "Definitely a coastal town, brought up in seaside town and really miss beach walks."

Thinking further afield, Martin Forthergill and Stuart O'Connor both said they'd love to move to Canada, while Cheryl Sinclair and Ryan Mitchell-Smith have their hearts set on a move to New Zealand.

Linda Clark has already left the district, but has some regrets. She said: "I left quite a few years back and moved to Harrogate. I’d rather be back in Wakey to be honest."

Having moved into Wakefield, Mika Clacka Clark said: "West Midlands to Wakey, never going back. Now in Netherton."

But Firth Dave is happy to stay put, and said: "Why on earth would anyone think of leaving the 'Merrie City?'"
