Andy Turner: "Philip was a great supporter and ex-player of Denby Grange CC who still held the post of Club President for many years up to and including today. Wherever I had the pleasure of going anywhere with Philip Dickinson he brought nothing but smiles & joy to everyone he came into contact with, whether it was an ex-client of one his many local salons who often came up & quoted the line from his old TV advert, a punter at the races or an cricketing adversary..sadly because of illness I haven't seen him since he watched his beloved PNE beat my team 0-1 and although showing signs of his illness, he still managed to entertain a room full of strangers with his charm and wit...not for the first time....sadly missed my friend."

Ghazala Ali: "So sorry and condolences to all the family. I only use Philips hair salon in Wakefield, Sandal and in town. Best hairdresser in town professional and friendly staff."

Ken Atkinson: "RIP to a true gent. Good memories of our battles as opponents on the cricket field, and a few sherbets after! Condolences to all your family and close friends. You really will be missed by many, many folk who you mentored and guided along the way. Sad day for us all."
