Due to his mother’s love of the boyband, 12-year-old Alex Hemingway has learned the beats to each of their songs which attracted the attention of both the group’s frontman Gary, and fellow member Mark Owen, when the youngsters’s videos were uploaded to the web.

But more recently, Alex was selected to perform with Gary online as part of his weekly ‘Crooner Sessions’ in which he sings daily duets with famous people and rising stars.

Alex, who is from Ryhill, drummed along while Gary sang his solo single from 2013, Let Me Go.

Alex’s mother Sharon explained: “Gary Barlow placed a post on his social media a couple of weeks ago on asking if anyone had any budding stars in their homes who would love to sing along with him.

“Alex wasted no time at all when I told him and quickly began to rehearse, before submitting his video entry the next day.

“Alex had the biggest surprise of his life, as he was selected for the first ever fan performance.
