Wakefield bar and nightclub confirms Covid-19 case, but will remain open after deep clean

A bar in Wakefield has announced that a member of staff had tested positive for Covid-19, but is remaining open following a deep clean.

Truth, on Westgate, posted on Facebook last night that all workers that had come into contact with the staff member have gone into a 14-day isolation period, including door supervisors and management.

The post reads: "Earlier in the week, we were made aware of a member of staff showing Covid-19 symptoms, the member of staff was tested and came back positive. We requested that all of our employees took a Covid test and informed the authorities, the council and track and trace.

"Truth has since been deep cleaned to eliminate any traces of the virus. We are currently operating on a new skeleton team of staff, ranging from floor staff to door supervisors.

"As always, we continue to use every safety precaution possible.

"The staff members in question did have their temperature taken. We do this before anyone can enter the premises) but weren’t displaying a fever or any other symptom of the virus."
