Wakefield charity's appeal to help spread Christmas joy - and they need your help

Wakefield Street Kitchen (WSK) is needing donations of selection boxes to be delivered across Wakefield to the elderly and their carers.
Anna Howard, founder of WSK, said: "So many charities are focusing on children this Christmas. Wakefield Street Kitchen plans to focus on the elderly and their carers as well as people struggling in the community."

Hide AdThe selection boxes will be wrapped up and delivered by Father Christmas across the city.
"Even if he is unable to go into their homes he can wave through the window to at least spread a little Christmas cheer." Anna said.
WSK will also be supporting people who struggle whom usually they feed and will be cooking and sending a festive feast to those in temporary accommodation..
Due to Covid restrictions some of the usual drop off points will be unavailable, but to make a donation you can drop off at The Ridings customer service, D Jones Quality Butcher, Morrisons, Dewsbury Road, Co-op, Ossett and The Recycle Yard, Ossett.

Hide AdThere will also be a drop off point at Visula Impact Organisation Ltd and Linley and Simpson estate agent.
The Wakefield Community Crafters have also been busy making shawls, blankets and hats to be delivered to the elderly alongside the selection boxes.
