The crafting group began just over a year ago with hundreds joining the group to handcraft hundreds of toys.

They have previously made and distributed hundreds of Joey pouches and bat wraps that were sent to Australia after the devastating wildfires.

They also handcraft trauma bears every year to be donated to the emergency services.

Sandra Keighley from the group said: “We decided to get on board with the frontline hero bears to distribute to the hospital staff once lockdown has been lifted to show a small appreciation for everything they have done above and beyond their normal duties.

“All this is done freely. We do not sell anything or ask for money donations - we do get donations of yarn and other materials from group members and The Recycle Yard in Ossett is amazing with donations.

"Other than that all the materials and time are supplied by the group members free and with love.”
