Wakefield dad's hilarious video shows kids remake music video for Queen's I Want to Break Free

Robbo Robson filmed the video earlier this week, after encouraging his children Harry, 7, and Lexie, 10, to learn more about Queen's music during their self-isolation.

He said: "My wife's a teacher but she had to go back to her school so I was left with the kids.

"You know what it's like when it's just maths and English and I'm not as good as my wife so I said let's do things that I know about.

"The kids do listen to all different types of music and I know they like Queen.

"My son's only seven but he's a character. They googled Queen and wrote down the members of the band and learned about them so I said come on then let's have a singalong.

"I saw the vacuum in the corner of the room and it just sort of clicked.

"We just looked for the props in the craft box and found some wigs and fake moustaches.

"I sat there and filmed it and I was in tears laughing. The rest of the family are self-isolating and they said it made their day."

Inspired by the original video for Queen's 1984 classic, Harry wore a black wig and his sister's school skirt to replicate Freddie Mercury's costume, while big sister Lexie wore a fake moustache and accompanied him as a backup dancer.

Robbo, a PC with West Yorkshire Police, initially shared the video with close friends and family, but decided to share it on Twitter in the hope it would bring some light to his followers during the national lockdown.

He said: "It's just something different for friends and family to have a laugh."

As for a follow-up performance? Robbo says the trio already have a plan in the works, and he is even considering making an appearance himself.
