Pervert locked up over child sex attacks in Castleford and Wakefield

Samuel Frost, 30, was sentenced to 32 months in prison after sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Castleford last year.

Leeds Crown Court heard on Friday that Frost carried out the attack on October 27, 2014.

Speaking at an earlier hearing, Katherine Robinson, prosecuting, said a 12-year-old girl was playing in Savile Park in Castleford with a group of friends.

Miss Robinson told the court: “The girl and her friends had decided to go to the shop. The defendant was on a BMX bike and rode up to her and sexually assaulted her before riding off on his bike.”

Frost also admitted committing an act of outraging public decency on the same day at the Asda supermarket in Glass Houghton.

Miss Robinson said he entered the store and began to stare at a 16-year-old girl who was shopping with her grandmother. She said: “The defendant followed the girl and her grandmother to their vehicle and he sat in front of it and looked at the 16-year-old girl while making a lewd licking motion.”

Miss Robinson said Frost saw them again as they left the store and again licked his lips while looking at the teenager.

The court also heard how Frost, of Talbot Street, Normanton, was already on police bail for two child sex offences in Wakefield at the time.

Those offences related to two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of two girls, aged 12 and 13, at Kirkgate railway station in Wakefield.

Miss Robinson said the girls arrived at the station at around noon on May 18 last year and Frost began to stare at them.

He then engaged in a sex act while looking directly at the girls.

Judge Geoffrey Marson had adjourned sentencing for three weeks after Denise Breen-Lawton, mitigating, said Frost, who has previous convictions of similar offences, had never been given a chance to address his issues. She asked the judge to consider imposing a community-based sentence so that he could get psychological help.

However, sentencing him to 32 months in prison, judge Marson told Frost: “These are serious matters and it’s quite impossible to pass anything other than an immediate custodial sentence.

“You are 30 years old and you pleaded guilty to four offences. It’s apparent from your history that you have a sexual attraction to young girls.”

Frost, who admitted all charges against him, was also made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order.
