John Lydon’s Public Image Limited (PiL) will play Warehouse 23 on Wednesday, May 25.

The show at the venue on Smyth Street is the second date on the UK leg of the European tour.

The band’s summer tour follows on from highly successful 2015 dates in the UK, Europe and North America.

Several of the 2015 dates were sold-out. They were regarded by many as the best performances the band has played in its 37-year history.

Tickets for the new shows went on general sale at 9am yesterday (Monday, January 18).

Last year the band released their 10th studio album ‘What The World Needs Now’ which peaked at number 29 in the official UK album charts and drew acclaim from both press and public.

The album was self-funded by PiL and released on their own label PiL Official via Cargo UK Distribution.

PiL have been going strong since 1978 and have had five UK Top 20 singles and five UK Top 20 albums. With a shifting line-up and unique sound, John Lydon has guided the band from their debut album ‘First Issue’ through to 1992’s ‘That What Is Not’.

After a 17-year hiatus, Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009 by taking them back on the road worldwide.

Warehouse 23’s box office is open Monday to Friday from 11am to 5pm on 01924 200162.
