Pink ladies unite against cancer at Pontefract Race for Life 2014
Thousands of women turned Pontefract Park pink for the town’s annual Race for Life event on Sunday.
Runners, united in their bid to beat cancer, walked or ran through the park, supported by friends and family who watched on from the sidelines.
Sarah Threadgall, Race for Life event manager for Pontefract, said: “I want to say a heartfelt ‘thanks’ to everyone who took part in Race for Life, and their supporters, as well as our heroic volunteers.
“It was a fantastic day, full of emotion, courage, tears and laughter as over 1,900 women joined forces to show cancer who’s boss.”
