Plea to find missing woman

POLICE are appealing for information to find a missing Withernsea woman who may be in the Pontefract area.

Officers from Humberside Police are urging residents to help them find former Pontefract woman Marlene Wagstaff, 77, who went missing from her home in Withernsea on Friday July 22.

A spokesman said: “Mrs Wagstaff is originally from the Pontefract area and there is a chance that she could have headed back into West Yorkshire. Officers are asking for residents in the Pontefract area to report any possible sightings of Marlene to the police.”

Mrs Wagstaff is around 5ft 4ins tall, with shoulder-length grey to black hair and spectacles.

She was last seen wearing a yellow coloured three-quarter length mackintosh jacket and a blue flowered skirt. It is thought she was wearing a mustard coloured cardigan under her jacket and a pair of non-matching brown leather shoes.

Mrs Wagstaff or anyone who knows of her current whereabouts or thinks they may have seen her since Friday afternoon is asked to contact Humberside police on 0845 6060222 quoting log 898 22 July 2011.
