Police appeal for witnesses after man collapsed in Castleford town centre

A man is in critical condition after being found with head injuries in Castleford town centre.

Paramedics were called to Bank Street, near the Glassblower pub, at about 2.30pm yesterday after a 45-year-old man collapsed and banged his head on the pavement.

The man, from Ferry Fryston, was taken to Pinderfields Hospital.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the man before the incident.

Det Insp Paul Harrison, of Wakefield CID, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw this man’s behaviour and movements just prior to his collapse.”
