Police appeal over convicted burglar

West Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal over the whereabouts of a convicted burglar who is wanted on recall to prison.

Michael Swanson could be in Wakefield or Pontefract, according to the authorities.

Swanson was jailed for three years and eight months in November 2013 after his involvement in a high-speed chase with police in a stolen Audi he had seized from a home in Rothwell, Leeds. He had also taken around £2,500 worth of rare jewellery from the property.

Swanson, who is now 24, was released on licence in June this year but is now wanted for breaching the terms of his licence. He is about 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with short brown hair and blue eyes. He also has a scar near his left eye.

Detective Inspector Steve Greenbank, of Leeds District CID, said: “Officers have carried out detailed enquiries to trace Swanson and are fully briefed as to his description. If he is not prepared to adhere to these strict guidelines then he must be brought to justice and recalled to prison.

“I would urge anyone who sees him to contact Leeds CID on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
