Election 2018: Labour
Pitch: Labour locally understands that people want good quality local services and that getting the basics right, such as maintaining and protecting the local environment, tackling anti-social behaviour and providing efficient refuse collections, matters to local people.
Well maintained highways are also a priority for people living in this district and we are investing to bring our roads up to scratch and campaigning for improved transport links for our local towns and villages.

Hide AdLabour recognises that local groups and organisations play an incredibly important role across our local communities in bringing about improvements and we continue to support the work they do.
We believe in fairness for all and it is our priority to tackle poverty by supporting hardworking families and people who are in need.
We support local businesses, helping them attract funding in order to grow and create jobs, and we are investing in schools and supporting our young people to access training and employment.
There is no doubt that the Tory government’s budget cuts of £128 million has affected vital local services and is inflicting long-term damage on this District and on our residents.
However, Labour will always put the interests of local people first in everything that we do.
