Wakefield MP calls on public to shop local in run-up to Christmas

Wakefield MP Imran Ahmad Khan has encouraged residents to support local businesses in the last shopping days before Christmas.

The Express has run its Support Local campaign for several week and asked readers to spend their money at local businesses who need all the support they can get.

Mr Khan visited city centre business with representatives from Wakefield BID.

Mr Khan said: "Wakefield is packed with great independent, small businesses. On the runup to Christmas, I urge all my constituents to support these businesses who provide a weekly pay packet to so many families across the constituency. We depend so much on local businesses - let them now be able to rely upon us."
