Pothole work carried out

A READER last week (Express letters, June 7) expressed concerns about potholes in Ashcroft Road in Featherstone.

This is an adopted road and so is inspected once a year, in accordance with the same protocol that applies to all other similar roads across the district.

Ashcroft Road was last inspected in October 2011 when some defects were recorded and marked for repair.

In addition to our own inspections, we also respond to reports and complaints from citizens.

A recent inspection has now revealed that some actionable defects and these will be repaired over the course of the next few days.

The council’s redevelopment plans for the Girnhill estate include new and improved highways and footpaths which will benefit everyone in the area.
