AT a time when so much publicity is given about the care of the elderly and care in the community, may I give praise to a special place – Holywell Day Centre in Airedale.
Two years ago my husband suffered a stroke and as part of his rehabilitation he was fortunate to be offered two sessions a week at Holywell.
I take my husband and when you go through the doors you are greeted by pleasant and heartwarming staff and to the smell of home cooking.
The managers and carers give 100 per cent to the elderly by way of conversation, craft sessions, carpet bowls, skittles, darts, dominoes and quiz sessions.
Not only has Holywell played a big part in my husband’s road to recovery, it has given him back the confidence he lost and has given me a precious few hours to do little jobs.
So, to the management, carers and kitchen staff – thank you for being there.
