Preview-Clarence Park Music Festival 2015

The annual Clarence Park Festival, the longest running free music festival in Yorkshire, is all set to go ahead at the end of the month.

After seven months of planning and hard work, the Wakefield Music Collective has booked 22 live bands and performers from the 270 who applied for a slot.

An eclectic mix, they include folk, blues/rock, alt pop. electronica, alt country, tribal dance, blues/ragtime, rockabilly and metal.

Eleven bands hail from Yorkshire with others travelling from London,Reading, Lincoln, Manchester and Liverpool.

There will also so be DJ sets throughout the festival weekend provided by Wakefield College tutors and students. Also on site will be food vendors, a beer tent, stalls and a rodeo bull.

Festival sponsors include Turning Point, Spectrum CIC, WMDC Neighbourhood Improvement Fund, The Ridings Centre, Wakefield College, Joe Brandi Foods, The Samaritans, Interlink and Ackworth Autoserve.

Opening the festival on Saturday are Leeds rockers Gonzos; closing are London-based electronica outfit Pink Diamond Review. On Sunday Sheffield rockers City Limits are first on stage and Manchester rhythm and blues band Turrentine Jones will be rounding off the weekend

Wakefield bands appearing include Broken, Expelaires, Rory Holl Project, and Victors .
