Protestors march through city centre in minimum wage fight
A group of around 30 people from the Bakers Food and Allied Workers Union brandished placards and paraded through the city centre to the Cathedral precinct at around 1pm today (April 14).
They marched as part of an international campaign inspired by protests for a $15 minimum wage in the United States.

Hide AdCampaigner Ian Hodson said: “We are campaigning for a minimum wage of £10 an hour for all workers of all ages.
“People in work should be able to sustain their own lifestyle without having to rely on extra support through benefits and loans.
“We want to see a society based on people’s ability to go to work, pick up their wage and be able to afford the things they need to live without having to become indebted.”
The group was also campaigning against zero hour contracts.
