Public invited to attended council cabinet meeting

Wakefield Council is inviting members if the public to attend its next Cabinet meeting.

The council is organising a Cabinet on Tour event, which will be held on Tuesday, June 14 at Wakefield Town Hall.

The body discusses the district’s important issues and listens to reports from different council services.

And residents are being invited to attend the latest meeting, where they will be able to ask members questions.

Wakefield Council leader, Coun Peter Box, said: “I’d like to encourage people to come along to the next Cabinet on Tour meeting.

“These events are about making it easier for people to get involved and to ask us about the issues that matter the most to them.”

The council is hosting the meetings around the district as part of the On Tour events, to try make it easier for people to attend.

Its next meeting takes place at the town hall on June 14 from 10.30am-noon.

People can also tweet their questions via Twitter on the day to @mywakefield and councillors will answer as many as possible.

The meeting will be also streamed live, and will be uploaded to the council’s website.

Future Cabinet on Tour take place on September 6, November 29, February 14 and May 9.

Venues for future meetings will be confirmed closer to the time.
