Pugneys Country Park remains closed

Torrential rain caused the lake’s water levels to rise after Storm Eva hit on Sunday.

Staff closed the park after water submerged some of the paths making them unsafe.

And they decided to keep the park closed after an inspection on Thursday morning.

A post on the park’s Facebook page said: “Unfortunately we are still closed.

“The site remains closed due to high water levels.

“We will be monitoring the situation and reopen when safe to do so, thank you for your patience.”
