Pugneys Country Park remains closed due to flooding

Torrential rain caused the park’s paths to become unsafe and the lake’s water levels to rise.

Staff closed the site over the weekend after storms caused severe flooding across the country.

And they decided to keep it shut after an inspection on Tuesday morning.

A post on the park’s Facebook page said: “The site remains closed due to high water levels.

“Further inspection planned for tomorrow morning.

“We will be monitoring the situation and reopen when safe to do so, thank you for your patience.”
