Pumpkin fun at festival

Thousands of youngsters made the most of the half term break by flocking to Farmer Copley’s for the annual pumpkin festival.

Visitors picked their own pumpkins, many making spooky lanterns to take home.

The fun event also included fancy dress witches and wizards, trailer rides aboard the Pumpkin Express and storytelling with Mrs Pumpkin. The festival will continue until tomorrow.

Organiser Heather Copley, who dresses as a witch every year to entertain visiting children, said: “It’s been absolutely off the scale.

“We planted 30,000 pumpkins this year and thought we’d never get through them but by Friday they will definitely all have gone. We’ve had thousands and thousands of families down – it’s been amazing.”
