Re-appeal after man seriously injured in ‘hit and run’

Police in Pontefract are re-appealing for witnesses after car hit a pedestrian before driving off.

The man was walking along Ropergate, Pontefract, just after midnight on Sunday September 20 when a car hit him.

A police spokesman said the vehicle then drove off and the pedestrian was left with serious leg injuries.

He said it is not clear what type of car was involved in the incident and asked for anyone who saw the incident or anything suspicious in Pontefract town centre around the time of the incident to get in touch.
