Recycle your Christmas trees to help hospice

Wakefield Hospice is offering to recycle real Christmas trees in return for a small donation.

The hospice has teamed up with Arrow Self Drive and local volunteers to offer a collection service from January 7 to 11.

For a minimum donation of £8, your tree will be collected and recycled into wood chips, which will be spread around the hospice gardens.

All residents need to do is sign up online, tell the team where the tree will be left and make a donation and the tree will be picked up.

The hospice - which has already raised more than £3,000 by selling trees before Christmas - is also looking for volunteers to help with the collections.

Anyone who has a few hours to spare on January 7 to 11 should email [email protected] or call 01924 213900.

Volunteers will be provided with a van and maps to complete the route.
