It has been organised by community groups City of Sanctuary and We are Wakefield to highlight the situation facing asylum seekers here in Wakefield and further afield in Europe, Syria and Iraq.

On the evening Wakefield City of Sanctuary will hold an Exchange or Sale Rail to help pay for emergency clothing items for people who arrive in the city. Good quality vintage clothing can be either exchanged or sold.

The organisation gives out around 70 packs of clothing and shoes a week and is in urgent need of supplies.

We are Wakefield has been coordinating refugee relief donations in the city and is planning a trip to Dunkirk at the end of November to hand over much-needed supplies.
