Rotary Navigation walk along the banks of Calder and Hebble canal

Rotarians are organising a sponsored walk along the banks of the Calder and Hebble canal - and they need you to join them.

The fifth Rotary Navigation Walk, which has been organised by Horbury and Ossett Phoenix Rotary Club and other clubs in West Yorkshire, will take place on Sunday, April 19.

Forecasters are predicting a warm weekend for the walkers to complete the route and raise funds for charity.

Walkers can cover distances of between three and 23 miles depending on how much of the route they wish to tackle.

The route’s starting and finishing points include:

- The Wharf, Sowerby Bridge

- The Barge and Barrel, Elland

- Bethel Street car park, Brighouse

- The Navigation Tavern, Mirfield

- The Navigation Inn, Horbury

- Marsden Railway Station

- Aspley, Huddersfield

The walk is open to individuals, groups and families to raise funds for Kirkwood Hospice, Wakefield Hospice, the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Overgate Hospice.

The four previous walks raised more than £53,000.
