A NEW king and queen have been crowned to celebrate the launch of Darrington’s annual feast and fair.
Ten-year-olds Jack Oakes and Lily Fitzgerald will preside over this year’s festivities which take place on Saturday June 23.
The Darrington CE J&I School pupils will be joined by attendants, Anna Neilson, 11 and Hollie Soper, ten.
Sam Wood, of the feast and fair committee, said: “This year’s feast and fair promises to be a great day out, with an Olympic theme and a display of canine agility.
“As usual, we will also be entertained with live music, with dancing from Dance Fusion and the Linbar Majorettes. So please join us for a great family day out.”
The event, in its 29th year, starts at midday with a five-mile fun run.
Entry to the fair costs £1 and money raised from the event will be used to maintain the village field and buy play equipment.
