Rugby-mad youngster Koby Braithwaite - who has a cleft lip - had a dream day when he met his sporting heroes.
Koby, 10, who has a cleft lip, met some of the squad at his favourite club, Castleford Tigers, after his dad Glen tweeted Tigers’ star Luke Dorn when he suffered an horrific facial injury in the team’s win over Salford Red Devils on March 20.
The Aussie full-back replied saying he wanted to meet Koby and arranged for them to meet before the game against Hull FC.
Glen said: “I was just sat
Koby and his family had exclusive access to the players’ lounge as well as the chance to meet Dorn and club coach Daryl Powell.
He even got the chance to walk out through the tunnel at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
Glen said: “It was a great experience for Koby and us to enjoy. I can’t thank Luke and the club enough for making this happen for us. It is a true family club and one we are all so proud to support.”
Dorn, who signed for Tigers last year, said: “It was great to meet Koby, I had a good relationship with his dad on Twitter and just to see his face and how excited he was to walk down the tunnel and be on the pitch was awesome.
“I remember those moments from when I was a little kid and to be able to do this for Koby is quite rewarding for me personally and I am just glad I was able to make him happy.”
