Shoppers were treated to the sight of Santa in a bath of spaghetti as staff at Knottingley’s Morrisons took part in a host of crazy antics to raise cash for ITV charity event Text Santa.

Staff member Antony Ward braved the bath of spaghetti in tomato sauce to raise £510 towards the store’s grand total of £1,100 so far.

The Marine Villa Road store’s management team also helped swell the funds by having their legs waxed in store, raising another £95.

Checkout supervisor Kayla Smith did a sponsored swim earlier in the week to add more than £100 to the pot, while other events earlier in the week included bag packing and collections.

Stephanie Grace, personnel manager, said: “We want to say a big thank you to all our customers for all their support.”
