School closed over faulty boiler

A school is closed today due a faulty boiler.

Wakefield Council's list of school closures said Sandal Magna Community Academy would be fully shut today (Tuesday November 28) because of a "utility failure".

The fault with the boiler means the school is without heating and hot water.

A statement on the school website said: "We are working on the issue and hope to be open on Wednesday, November 29."

It said a message would be sent to parents to update them on the situation.
