Wakefield Council services across the district have been hit by the strikes.

Airedale, Castleford, Crofton, Featherstone, Hemsworth, Horbury, Normanton and Stanley libraries, Castleford Museum, Castleford Swimming Pool, Featherstone Sports Centre, the mobile library, Pinmoor Children’s Centre, Pontefract markets, Pontefract Museum, Queen’s House centre for the homeless, Upton Children’s Centre, Wakefield markets and the Wakefield One cash office are all closed today.

It is a normal closure day for Ossett, Pontefract, Sandal and South Elmsall libraries.

Castleford Markets, Knottingley Library, Knottingley Sports Centre, Pontefract Swimming Pool, Pugneys, Sun Lane Leisure Centre, Thornes Stadium, Wakefield Golf Course, Wakefield One customer access point, Wakefield One Library and Musesum and the Wakefield Tourism Information Centre will be open but with a reduced service. The visitor centres at Pontefract and Sandal castles will be closed and the licensing office will be available on phone only.
