Sex assault appeal


POLICE are appealing for information after a serious sex attack in Castleford.

A 32-year-old woman engaged in conversation with a man near to Cutsyke railway junction at around 11am on Thursday June 28.

They walked to a wooded area off Leeds Road where she was subjected to a serious sexual assault.

The suspect is described as a white male 5 foot 7 inches tall, 26 to 30 years old, with smooth skin, neat blond/strawberry blond hair and was wearing blue jeans.

Officers were at the junction on Saturday (July 7) carrying out enquiries into the incident.

Police say it is not linked to the assault near Pottery Street in Castleford last week.
