Simon Cowell hands Castleford’s Jack Walton X Factor wildcard - Mel B reveals

Castleford singer Jack Walton’s X Factor dream is still alive after judge Mel B revealed he had been chosen as a wildcard for this weekend’s live shows.

The 18-year-old was sent home after singing an acoustic version of Halo by Beyonce at the former Spice Girl’s home in Mexico.

But there will be four wildcard acts chosen to take to the stage in the first of the live shows tomorrow night and judges will pick the wildcard of each others’ categories.

At his first auditon Jack, of Aketon Road, told judges he was from Leeds before explaining to Mel he was actually from Castleford.

Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain today (Friday) Mel, from Leeds, said fellow judge Simon Cowell had chosen ‘someone from her home town’ as her wildcard.

She said: “I’m so happy with my wildcard. Simon chose mine, I can’t tell you who he is but he is from my home town.”
