Budding singer Kaci Hepworth is setting her sights on stardom after making it through to the final of a regional talent competition.
The Ferrybridge 11-year-old will sing in the final of Yorkshire’s Got Talent after impressing judges in a qualifying heat.
She will now take to the stage in front of the judges in the final in Wetherby next month.
Proud dad Simon Hepworth, 40, of Crewe Avenue, said: “I’m filled with an enormous amount of pride when I hear her sing and her mum, Lisa, is her biggest fan.
“Kaci absolutely loves singing. She first entered a singing competition on holiday and it’s gone from there.”
The Freeston Academy pupil has also used her musical talents to raise money for several local charities.
Mr Hepworth added: “Kaci has just always loved anything to do with music.
“She can play the piano and is also learning to play the drums.
“She’s really talented and she would love to become a singer in the future.”
Kaci, who has launched her own YouTube and Facebook pages to showcase her talents, will battle it out against 11 other finalists at the Yorkshire’s Got Talent final on January 10.
Mr Hepworth said: “Kaci had some really good comments during qualifying and one of the judges said she is a potential winner so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for her.”
The talent contest was set up to raise money for Gemma Newman, who suffered sudden and life-changing brain bleeds after collapsing at work in May this year.
