Colourful scarecrows also transformed Badsworth last weekend as the village held its own festival.
Inspired by the Tour de France Grand Depart, which comes through Yorkshire on July 5 and July 6, the event had a “Bonjour Badsworth” theme and villagers got into the spirit of the event with 37 entries.
Ann Slinger, one of the organisers, said: “The festival has gone really well. We’ve had lots of visitors around the village and it’s been reasonable weather which always helps.
“We get people from all over and it creates a lovely atmosphere in the village. It brings people together.”
Badsworth’s event raised more than £600 which will be split between various charities, the village school and community centre.
