SLIDESHOW: Flash flooding hits Five Towns area
Businesses, homeowners and charities across the Five Towns are today counting the cost of Friday’s flash floods.
A huge storm forced people to evacuate their homes as heavy rain led to more than five feet of flood water in some areas of Castleford.
Xscape entertainment complex, Castleford town centre, Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice and Castleford Tigers Mend-a-hose Jungle were all affected.
Flooding hit kitchen services at the hospice and bosses at the care centre are calling on the community to help.
