Crowds flocked to Pontefract Racecourse on Tuesday for the first horse race meeting of the year.
Around 3,000 people attended the seven race programme, which was the first of 16 meetings at the course this year.
The feature race was the Paddock Package Handicap Stakes over a mile and a quarter and was won by favourite Lady Loch, trained by Richard Fahey.
Richard Hammill, clerk of the course, said: “The first day went really well. We’ve worked hard to put a lot of prize money forward this year which the jockey’s appreciated.”
The next race meet at the course is on April 22.
