SLIDESHOW: Thousands wowed by Ackworth Gala
More than 1,500 braved the rain to flock to Ackworth Gala last weekend.
The event, which featured a parade and the crowning of the gala queen, raised around £6,000 for local charities and good causes.
Coun Terry Hollyhead, the parish council’s village events committee chairman said: “The gala is very important to Ackworth. It is the biggest community event in the village and brings everyone together.”
