Sports camp '˜will help kids beat boredom'

Children can get fit whilst having fun with sports sessions at the Glasshoughton Centre this half term.

The sessions, which take place between 9am and 3pm from May 31 until June 3, will give youngsters aged five to eleven the chance to try out activities including football, athletics, basketball and rounders.

Coun Richard Forster said: “Having a good school holiday offer at the Glasshoughton Centre is important not for just the young people who will have a fantastic time, learning new skills and engaging in a range of sports that are professionally run, but it means their parents know they’re getting involved in worthwhile activities.”

Simon Leonard, Director of Sport Works Yorkshire, which is helping to organise the events, added: “With experienced coaches and fantastic facilities lined up we’re all ready to go and look forward to coaching and inspiring young people who want to try a range of exciting activities and benefit from all that sport has to offer.”

Sessions cost £20 each. Anyone interested should contact [email protected] or call 01977 511234.
