Sunshine Underground to top city centre music bill

Organisers announced today that the city’s own talented trio will close the show at The Brudenell Social Club on Saturday night.

The headlining band told fans on Twitter today: “Very pleased to announce that we are the special guest headliners at Live at Leeds this Saturday! We’ll be debuting some new tunes too. Very exciting. Who’s coming??”

This weekend’s festival promises to celebrate the best up and coming music alongside established crowd favourites.

The line-up boasts more than a hundred bands across twelve stages at venues across the city centre.

While TSU top the bill at Hyde Park’s premier music haunt, New York hipster Darwin Deez headlines Leeds Metropolitan and Birmingham indie kids, Peace, will see the night out at The Cockpit.

Manchester’s electro darlings Everything Everything promise a frenzied finale at Leeds University while folk trio The Staves are set to pack out Holy Trinity Church.

Homegrown talent such as Sky Larkin and The Pigeon Detectives pepper the bill which also features BBC Sound of 2013 nominees, Laura Mvula and AlunaGeorge.

Wristbands for Saturday cost £22.50 and a separately ticketed gig featuring The Vaccines takes place on Sunday.

Industry seminar Unconferenced takes place tomorrow (Friday) and Bank Holiday Monday will see the official Live At Leeds five-a-side football tournament.
