Sweet smell of success at Pontefract Liquorice Festival
More than 35,500 people enjoyed all-sorts of activities - including more than 80 stalls full of food, drink, sweets, clothing and gifts - going on in the town centre precinct.
Lucy Liquorice welcomed visitors, while youngsters were able to enjoy a variety of arts and crafts, face painting and puppet making. The children took part in a lemon sherbet-making experiment and there was also street entertainment, stilt-walkers, dancing grannies on their shopping trollies, workshops and informative talks.
