Swimmers go for gold at special Olympics

Super swimmers won an impressive medal haul when they took part in the Special Olympics Yorkshire and Humberside regional swimming gala held in Harrogate on November 23.

Thomas Raddings, 15, of Ackworth, Sarah Shutt, 38, of Featherstone, and Oliver Peace, 20, of Upton, all from Able2 Pontefract Special Olympics Swim Squad, produced outstanding performances.

Oliver won gold in both 25m and 50m men’s breast stroke, Thomas won bronze in the men’s 50m freestyle and breast stroke, and Sarah won gold in 25m breast stroke and bronze in 50m freestyle. The team also won gold medals in the relay.
