Teen locked up over New Year's Eve jaw break attack
Jordan Bugg, 19, struck the victim from behind and knocked him unconscious during the “cowardly” attack outside the Picture House pub, Castleford.
A court heard the incident took place at 1.30am on January 1 this year shortly after police had been called to a disturbance at the premises.

Hide AdTwo officers witnessed the attack as they arrived at the pub.
Heather Gilmore, prosecuting, said: “They saw the defendant leave the club, turn right and run up to the complainant who was walking away from the pub and punched him once to the head.
“He fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious. He lost consciousness for around a minute.”
The victim suffered a cut to his face and needed hospital treatment for a fractured jaw.

Hide AdBugg, of Pauline Terrace, Castleford, was arrested at the scene. He claimed he had attacked the victim in retaliation over an incident earlier in the evening.
Martin Robertshaw, for Bugg, said his client pleaded guilty at an early stage and was sorry for what he had done.
Judge Batty sentenced Bugg to eight months in a young offenders institution.
He said: “You are someone who clearly feels that you can do what you like, particularly when it comes to sorting someone out.

Hide Ad“When you saw an opportunity you went up behind him in rather a cowardly fashion and punched him when he was completely off guard.”
The judge added: “The problem for you is that this is drunken violence involving serious injury.”
