Teen robbed at knifepoint in Batley

Two hooded robbers threatened a teenager with a knife and stole his mobile phone, as he walked along Hilberoyd Road in Batley yesterday.

The 17-year-old boy was approached by two males at around 8.40pm. They asked him if he had any drugs.

When he said no, the robbers threatened him with a knife and took his Samsung Galaxy Ace mobile phone.

Detective Constable Andy Clayton from the Kirklees Robbery Team said: “Both suspects are described as being Asian males, about 16-years-old.

“The first suspect is around 5ft 7” tall and of skinny build.

“He wore a long-sleeved dark coloured hooded top with the hood up.

“The second suspect is around 5’ 8” tall and of chubby build. He also wore a long-sleeved dark coloured hooded top with the hood up. It a had light coloured zip up the front.”
